K0 throttle cable routing
« on: October 21, 2007, 10:11:35 AM »
OK, I am asking a lot of questions about these K0 carbs. Seems like every step has raised questions. Anyone paying attention may as well have been looking over my shoulder. Hopefully, this question will be my last about mounting. And curse the PO for leaving me these NOS carb holders. They look great and there will be no vacuum leaks, but they were an absolute bear to mount the carbs on. Thank heaven this is a Honda and I had a bigger hammer.

Now I'm pondering this one-into-four cable. It's too fat to route like the cables on my K5 750 - it can't seeming go through the frame or around the coils. The best place that I can see for it to go would be over the main frame bar, but that, of course, might interfere with the gas tank. I don't think the tunnel is big enough for this cable.

Can anyone tell me the correct way to route this sucker.

With correct routing on the cable, and some assurance that my oil pump is working, and the bike is ready for a test start....

It runs underneath the main frame backbone. I'll go take a picture later today for ya.
No.

Yes, and under the coils.  Fits rather nicely there.  In order for me to be able to screw the top section and bottom section of cable together at the connection I had to loosen the coils to get my fingers in there.
As far as your oil pump, when you start it hopefully your oil light goes out.
