Getting hit from the rear while stopped is one of my two greatest bike fears....the other is hitting a deer. I've been hit driving in cars three times while stopped...all by sober people that were obviously distracted.  ::)

Sounds like this lady needs some serious help.

Keep an eye on that neck pain Sparty, I had a guy run up my arse a few years ago when I was stopped waiting to turn right, anyway, like you, there wasn't much damage done to my car, (whereas his car was a mess (my tow bar took the hit) so feeling sorry for him, I let it go. I've had bad neck pain on and off now for  5 years since it happened, and I know that it was the "rear ender" that caused it. Cheers, Terry. ;D

So you've been rear ended Terry, perhaps you now know how all those sheep feel ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just saw on the news - it was Britney Spears!

Just goes to show, when you get hit by a crazy chick yakkin' on the mobile with a kid bouncing around in the back seat, first thing you do is smack her upside her head with the phone and make sure the kid sees you do it.  Best way to make sure they don't follow in their mom's footsteps.

Sad for the kid involved.  Hope there's a stable guardian to look after them when mom's trading favours for smokes in the pen.

Don't you laugh Sammy, next time you're tucking into a lamb roast, just remember that we export most of our lamb to Britain, ha ha! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

If you are thinking suit, this one looks like an empty barrel. She is probably on public assistance and food stamps.

Please, I would not sue over this.  I hope that lady gets her stuff together, she has a kid to take care of.
why do i keep reading these old threads?
sorry i missed this one sparty... looks like you mended and are on the mend again.   :-\

having an evil, abusive stepmother i've learned that #$%*ty parents suck... i would have sued her pants off just to get her away from the kid.
but, now that i think of it... i'm willing to bet the kid is now in foster care anyway.

OK, so it's been 4 months.  Any chance Sparty has an update?

Update:  The woman who hit me was arrested for failing to appear in court for her citations (fleeing the scene of an accident, driving on a suspended license, endangering the welfare of a child).

I had to pay a $500 deductible for the $972 worth of damage she caused.  She had no insurance.  I can take her to small claims court for the $972, but I would never see the money anyway because she doesn’t have a job.  So, I basically got railed.

To top it off – This is a real kick in the sack.  About a two weeks after I had the rear end of my car fixed, some smuck must have hit my rear bumper in the grocery parking lot because there was a 12 inch mark of white paint on it when I came out with my groceries.  I haven’t buffed it out yet because the paint is still too fresh.

Thanks for reminding me that I am out $500 because of a stupid, no good, worthless, dirtbag!

You know what might cheer you up sparty,

Just listen to that sound file of your bike hitting 9k after you got it together. I saved a copy on my desktop and listen to it for inspiration now and then  ;)

Sorry to hear about your crappy deal man.

 Keep your chin up,
