Whoa!..this kinda blew up didnt it? lol Nice deal on the helli....Guess i should provide an update as to where i went in the RC world since i made this thread...

In this pic: Traxxas Slash Short course truck, Traxxas Stampede,AE RC10T3.
Robitronics Stinger EST-2,Team Losi LXT with XXX-T body,Tamiya Stadium Thunder with HPI Body, Team Losi XXX-S with Dodge charger body, AE RC18R,
AE RC12L4,Traxxas Bandit,AE RC10B4,Team Losi XXX-BK2,Team Losi XX4 WE,AE RC18T,Duratrax Mini Quake

In this pic: Tazer PRT Prototype,Ofna 9.5 MBX,Traxxas Nitro Rustler

In this Pic: Project Blackfoot scale truck, Project Brat Scale Truggy

Only things the two scale trucks have in common with the Tamiyas of the same names is the bodies came from the Tamiyas, Both are on custom 4x4 drivetrains and chassis. The Brat has the drivetrain from the Axial AX10 i had shown in earlier posts in this thread,

In this pic: Competition rock crawler based off of Axial AX10.

This is a rig i bought as you see it in the pics from a buddy of mine he got tired of comp crawlers and got into scale trucks so i picked it up off of him. Traded my T Maxx and some cash for it.

In this pic: Traxxas Slash Short Course truck, and brand new HPI Blitz short course truck

Just bought the blitz about a week ago. Already need a new esc as a result of running in slush with it..whoops...lol

i'm looking at getting rid of the Tamiya TA-04s skyline car AND the Duratrax evaderBX so i can get the Tamiya Bronco, which was juts lust at first sight. tomorrow the guy comes to get the evader and the skyline and that should get me the Bronco minus electrics, which i'll pull out of the associated tc-3. i dont put any money out of pocket when i get new kits, if i cant sell or trade existing R/C equipment, i just dont get the kit. that way i can get new stuff without spending money i shouldnt. i still have an unbuilt factory team tc-3 sitting in my office closet as well as enough parts taken off of other tc-3's to build yet another. i love my team associated stuff  :D

This little helicopter looks pretty nice, too.  It's a little bit smaller than the other one, but it's only $58.00.

i love it, every time i run the tc-3 something else breaks. this time it was one of the front axles, so i'll get the aluminum ones to replace the stockers.

It's been almost a year, so about time to bring this back up! ;D

I finally got around to getting an rc helicopter.  Starting small with a Blade MSR.  It's on 7.5" long, but is amazingly intricate and is perfect for flying indoors.  Both my dad and I have really put it to the test, learning how to fly it and crashing it dozens and dozens of times.  The only part that's actually broken is the combo landing skid/battery holder, but that's cheap and easy to replace.  The main and tail rotors, as well as the flybar have taken some serious abuse, and I replaced them a couple of days ago.

After spending some time with this one I'm sure I'll be upgrading soon to a larger, collective pitch helicopter that I can take outside.  The MSR only weighs 1oz with the battery attached, so even the slightest breeze blows it away.

When you are interested in collective pitch helis, check out helifreak.com.  It is by far the greatest site for rc helis.  Also, before you even attempt to fly one I highly recommend you buy a good simulator like Pheonix or RealFlight.  One non-crash will pay for the cost of the sim, and you will improve much faster and have more fun.

This is by far a bigger hobby and expense than I imagined. I recently had an older mint condition traxxas stampede given to me minus the remote control. Im still looking at prices and parts diagrams but this should be a fun hobby once I get it all running. Times sure have changed since I played with my brothers Grasshopper rc buggy as a kid.

Thanks!  I've spent a decent amount of time already on helifreak just reading and looking around.  From what I found searching it definitely seems like the most comprehensive site.  I've also been looking into getting the RealFlight simulator, so it's nice to hear more support for it.

RealFlight and Phoenix are both fantastic.  I have owned both.  However, I now use Phoenix exclusively for two resons: 1. FREE upgrades always!  2. You use your actual controller, that way it feels the same when you go to the field.
Just my observations.  This is kind of like the oil debate: synth or dino, so just get one and have fun!!!

Holy Dead Thread, Batman!

My wife got me an RJ Speed Digger kit for xmas, yes I'm aware its September.  :P
Used the same paint scheme as I did for her Lunchbox.  The other one is an RC10T w/ buggy body.

Sadly, as most of my RC cars have been throughout my life, they are all busted.  Or shall we say, need TLC.   :D
