Exterior engine cleaner

As my project moves along, I have no plans to have the engine polished, but i would like to clean it and remove some of the dullness.  What would be good?

Some Simple Green will remove the grunge. A scotchbrite disc on a wheel wull do a nice job on the barrels. For the cases some white compound and a buffer pad will put some luster on them.

The 1973-1975 H1 and H2 Kawasaki triples did not come with painted cases. So during the restorations I had to come up with a way to add some bling to the stock, bare cases. I finally learned that stainless steel brushes on a drill motor works wonders on large areas while stainless brushes in a Dremel will handle the small, tight spots. Do not use regular steel. The dust will get into the pores and will rust - causing permanent discoloration. Stainless cost just a little more. This H2 case was done 2 years ago and looks like this today. The CB750 was done last fall during the first build - I simply washed it down with PJ1 during this 2nd build in March of this year and the shine is all still there. If you like the finish - it's accomplished by just a few seconds under a wire brush.
