Replacement headlight, CB750K
« on: December 10, 2007, 11:21:14 AM »
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/7-H4-MOTORCYCLE-HEADLIGHT-HARLEY-HONDA-YAMAHA-KAWASAKI_W0QQitemZ230200402608QQihZ013QQcategoryZ35575QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Are those decent?  Seems cheap, too cheap...

My 750 didnt come with a headlight, but I've got the bucket and all the mounting hardware and I'd like to put in a glass headlight with a replaceable H4 bulb, for an easy HID switch down the road.  Any suggestions?

I have that exact one on my bike.  No problems, much more light.

I would buy Hella, their quality is beyond the generic brands. The ebay post is not clear whether the lamp is hella or "hella like", "euro style"

at least www.rallylights.com sells hella h4 enclosures

Forget right now the HID bit the generator will struggle enough with the H4 unless you stay over 3,000 revs all the time as you yanks have to have the light on all the time, at least in UK the battery gets charged during the daylight!!! (when we get any).

Also if you havent got the two crome rims with all the hardware including the adonised retainer you cant fit it----unsure as you said you had a "shell" as to whether you have any light at all
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

I was under the impression that HID draws far less current. It needs more momentarily to light up but while on it draws (typically) 30w for comparable 100+ watt halogen intenisty

....... the way I read it, I thought they were quite clear that they were NOT Hella, Cibie or Bosch .......

and I believe that they are made in India
