Another CB350F exhaust thread
« on: December 12, 2007, 04:54:09 PM »
Hey everyone. I found a set of 4 into 2 exhaust with headers for a 350F. They are NOS aftermarket made in the 70's sometime. Not sure about the brand. Is $300 too much and is there anything I should look out for?

My bike has an aftermarket 4 into 2 system that works but I would like to get something else. I'm not a big fan of the 4 into 1 systems. Thanks for any input.

I'd say $300 is a steal for a complete 4 into 2 set in that nice of condition. When I was looking for exhaust, I remember finding the 4 into 2 mufflers made by SITO?, and the pair was more than that.
Ended up with the MAC 4 -1 @ $400.

I'd get it, probably would look better than a 4 into 1 too.
 Matt.

That looks like the same system I have on my bike. And I agree with matt, $300 is a steal. A few months ago I watched a brand new set like yours sell on ebay for $861!!!!! My dad thinks he payed $250 for mine when he bout it 10 years ago. I say go for it.

I think you guys are right. $300 seems like a small price to pay when I have seen others go for so much more. I hate to spend that kind of cash right now but if I don't get them I will be kicking myself for months.

Just a word of caution, if you do fit this system you may run into some issues. When my dad fit his, he ended uo having to cut off one of the kickstand supports for it to fit. Now I also saw a bike with this system on ebay once and their kickstand was still on but the left pipes seemed like they were a bit cockeyed in order for things to fit. Who knows, you mihgt not have any problems at all.

One other think, you may want to rig up some sort of stop for the center stand. On my bike, the left muffler IS the stop and there's a piece of plastic tubing on the foot catch in order to keep from damaging the muffler every time the center stand pops up. Except I need to figure something else out because the plasic tube has melted and now again exposed the metal of the foot catch to the muffler.

Here's some pics of what it looks like on my bike:

Looks good. Use exhaust wrap instead of plastic on the kickstand to protect the muffler. It will stand the heat OK.

I bid $800 on that set a few months ago.  And didn't get it!!!!!  If you have any doubts about paying $300 for the set you are looking at, just tell me where they are and I'll buy them and then I'll let you know what a great deal you missed. ;) ;)

Thanks for the advice everyone. I went ahead and made the purchase last night. There was just no way I could pass on them.

hoodellyhoo,

One of my current mufflers is a little off just as you described. If this set is what I'm looking for I will make sure they are installed right the first time. Thanks for the tip.

okie,

I guess I didn't do so bad after all. I'll make you a deal. If I don't like this set I will give you first chance at them for the same price that I gave plus whatever it would cost to ship. Sound good to you?

Yes.  That is just like money in the bank for you.  Those pipes are what Honda SHOULD have out on the 350 at the factory.

Thanks to an off-line tip from mj_honda, I got a set of these pipes from the same seller(the LAST set).  They look better in person than they did on eBay.  Brand new.  Made in Japan.  Now I'm going to have to get another 350/Four to put these pipes on.

I have the same problem with my MIVV 4-4 system on my 350 the centre-stand hits the silencer - I have a bit of tubing on there as well...   ::)

When I get the bike back I'll try the exhaust tape too..

So how did the original system not become the stop for the centre stand?? Ok mine isn't the same shape but it is pretty close.

With the original exhaust, the foot extention of the center stand rests against the lower outside of the #2 muffler.

Holy cow!!!!!  I finally broke down and put these pipes on my bike in place of the MAC 4 into 1 pipes I had.  It looked pretty good.  They fit up pretty nice.  I had to fabricate a different center stand stop.  I figured I would just take some pictures and put them on eBay.  Then I made the mistake of riding down the street just one time before I took them off.  I can't begin to describe the difference in performance.  It was a LOT quieter but the little jewel just wanted to scream.  It is like a completely different bike in terms of performance.  Anybody want to buy an almost new MAC 4 into 1 pipe?  'nuff said.

I changed my oil on Sunday (what a nice day for January) so while it was out I snaps some photos of the center stand stop on the 350. I was wrong in my previous post. There is a rubber stop on a brace on the inside of the the #2 muffler.

Thanks for the pics. I'm going to have to have a good look at my bike when I get it back to see whether there's anyway of fixing a bracket like that on.
