Topic: Reconstructing a CB750 from a basket case

Assuming all the parts are provided (this remains to be seen), what is the logical order for putting together a CB750 from basket case status?

I will be picking up a '69 CB750 basket case this evening. I had thought I'd part it out, but if the stuff is all there, I may just dive in and - eventually - put it all back together again.

I know I will have to sand and repaint the frame. The p.o. unfortunately left it laying outside for a season. 

If there is a previous thread on this exact topic, or a website that discusses it, I would appreciate a link.

you can either a)install the engine then the front end and back wheel or b)do it the other way.then you just go from there.most folks put the engine in first because they lay the frame down over the engine to get ii in.good luck.

  A 2nd mostly complete CB750 parts bike will come in very handy for the inevitable missing things and as a reference.

I started mine with rebuilding the motor after stripping the frame. Once the motor was ready to go , I blasted and painted the frame/swingarm and mated the 2. then I began building forks and such to get it to roll. -josh in dallas
