Brit and / or Aussie help
« on: December 24, 2007, 08:58:35 PM »
CCM Motorcycles- especially the Retro Collection- seem like they might sell here in the 'States.  Anyone know these bikes?  Why they wouldn't be over here? Know anyone you can ask?  Are these good bikes?

Paul, if you click on the history section on that site you will find that 4,000 CCMs were exported to the USA in 83/85 badged as Can Ams.

The factory where they are made is about half an hour from my home but I have never been there.

I'm not sure why they are not sold over there, why not drop them a line and ask.

Seasons greetings Paul.

I would think they would sell here.  They are using a good lump in there, and they sell in Australia (of course they go for anything if you include a free can of beer.  Can't do that here...)  Although they might be a bit pricey for Americans.

I'm getting a yen for another thumper.  I miss the GB, but these CCM's seem like they would be around $10 or $11K new.  Yeow...!

I w3onder what it would take for you or Terry to send one here.  I think they could be registered as a Suzuki, yes?  I sent them an e-mail, so we'll see.

On another note, I heard a rumour that kawasaki may be considering a W750.  It would probably sell in Europe.  heard anything?

I always wanted one of the B50 based bikes. Do the new ones use Yamaha 450 engines?

What's a B50?
I think the CCM's have a Suzuki 400 engine.
