Christmas brunch
« on: December 24, 2007, 11:51:05 PM »
2 tblsp.  Grand Marnier "I used a bit more"
1 doz. eggs
1/2 cup cream
1/2 tsp vanilla
zest from 1 orange
French Bread sliced 1" thick

Drop slices in to mixture and lay out on a pan that can be covered.
Cover and leave in fridge overnight.

Christmas morning.......peheat  oven to 375.
Place soaked bread on well oiled pan.
Bake 20-25 mins.

Haven't tried it yet, but it sure sounds good.

See tomorrows post for results.

Merry Xmas every one. 10.00 mins. to go............

Is it still "French" bread, or "Freedom" bread now? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I would think the bread would get to soggy left to soak overnight. The recipe sounds good though.

Sounds like an excellent idea for individual bread puddings.
I do like a good bread pudding.

Can you substitute Makers Mark for Grand Marnier? Over here, that's a Poofters drink! ;D
