repainting speedo/tach housings
« on: July 27, 2005, 06:47:34 PM »
Just thought I would post some pictures of my old tach housing repainted, I first stripped the tach down. I then sanded it to bare metal and sprayed it with metal etch primer, let it dry(about 15 min.) then I sprayed it with dupont satin black bumper paint. The first picture compares it to a nos speedometer( which has never been installed on a bike) on the left. The second picture is of the paints I used.

Nice job.  Was it hard to do?

Thanks, no it was'nt hard to do. The most difficult thing is seperating/assembling the guage. I used a small flat tip screwdriver and slowly worked my way around until I was able to remove the ring.
