Heard the engine run tonight!
« on: January 21, 2008, 07:54:04 PM »
Finally I got the engine started on the '78K8. It hasn't been run since '85 and it fired right up with the choke cable pulled halfway. It settled into an idle very quickly!

I revved it up to check the charging system, and this baby was singing!

8 thousand miles....its a baby!

Now I have to complete the flush of the tank and reroute the fuek line, and I'm ready to register the bike.

Very cool. Pardon my enthusiasm, but I am amped!  ;D

I just started mine up for the first time the other day also. It feels great to know all the hard work and money paid off. Now if it would only get above freezing here in Iowa. Damn Al Gore and his global warming.  ;)
