if you were to see someone with the same exact tat you had (after being told by your artist it was an original drawing10 years ago) would you want to do some massive changes to it? or keep it as is? i am beside myself pissed off this evening because just that has happened to me! the tatts are in the same spot and in approximately the same color too. from different artists in different parts of the country too. not like theyre concealable either as these tatts are on my hands/wrists/forarms.

first off... is the "other" a member of the opposite sex? (or desirable in some similar way)

if not... kick the tattoo artist's a$$ for good measure... you have tattoos, so i assume you know how to do such things

That's why I've taken the design to the tattoo place with me when I've gone.

I'd absolutely have a word with them about it.

If the reason you got the tat was to make an unique statment, then maybe it's a good idea to add something to it. If the work has personal meaning for you, don't worry about it. It's your personal thing, regardless if someone has something similar.

Challenge the other person to duel, winner takes all. Does this other person ride a bike? if so challenge them to death race in the mountains. These are the only options I can see you having.

I like it except make it a duel... on motorcycles. Kinda like jousting but with heavy weaponry.

Well then get a tattoo that doesn't wash off with the milk from your milk and cookies, or learn to throw some punches. Now go find someone with a tatto gun and get done up.

I got both ways- I have a bunch of tattoo's as well and I've always had them hand draw things, but I usually give them some source material to go off of. There isn't much original 'art' out there to begin with, so it's tough when you're doing that style - even if he did do it original- someone else could have had a very similar idea and that tattooer traveled and someone saw a picture, etc. Its your arm! Be happy with it either way!

i second that .... i have a couple flash peices that i really related to thats why i got them .if it really bugs you, it always will so just add on to them , if it only bugs you a little ,you'll most likely get over it

i paid 200 for the fire design on the right arm/hand and 300 for the water design on the left arm/hand. last time i was in tampa i went to go by the shop and say hello but it was closed down. if i had the money i'd get the things removed and start over. i get more and more pissed every time i think about it.

I often wonder if there would be a market for a high quality semi-permanent tattoo available, that could be easily removed. (or change color, or be made permanent)

I've spoken to a lot of people who cover up their "tatts" because they are embarrassed by them, (particularly women) and some of them tell me how they were never that keen on them from day one, because they didn't really want them in the first place, or they didn't look as good as they'd hoped, or that part of their life (boyfriend/girlfriend) was over etc etc.

I'm sure there must be the technology out there to develop a tattoo ink that can be made to go transluscent, or even change color, or status from temporary to permanent? I better get out my chemistry set, there might be a buck to be made! Cheers, Terry.

Entire reason i even got it at the time was because i was heavily into street racing (hence the Nitrous canister) and the fact i was a firefighter (hence the flames) The plan at one time was to eventually add more black light ink to it (the NOS glows under a black light) Now eventually i want to get a Reaper tattoo on my right bicep mostly because of the simple fact that i have been around so much death and have had two close calls with it myself. A lil morbid i know but..i tend to take a look at things like that in a darker view because of how often it has occured..
