I have a 74 750K, Keihin Carbs
I completely disassembled everything, allowed pieces to soak in Yahama Carb cleaner, reassembled everything, (Which was a pain in the arse to put back on those boots, but a little shot of grease slid them back on ; ) ), tried to start it up, and the RPMs spiked like crazy, no idle what so ever..
Realized the needle and/'piston like thing' wasn't seating all the way down to close up the gaping hole, and I figured out I tightened the bushings and lock nut to far down. So I started backing them back out, and it did allow the gaping hole to slowly dimish, but when I got to the last one, I realized that the bushing was just sitting there spinning and wasn't allowing the thing to seat all the way..
So the question is, what did I do wrong while assembling the carbs back up, to make it sit there and spin. It's like the screw is stripped or something, or at least that is how it is acting.
Also when I went back out there to check it, to curse a bit, to light up a cigarette to lick my wounds, I discovered that gas was coming out of the needle at the bottom. Which was the reason I took the off to begin with. I thought that a float wasn't sitting right and it was allowing gas to overflow in a completey other carb. All of which should be fixed now, except for the new arriving problem that I face..
It's the old adage, if it isn't one thing it's another..
Hopefully it's an easy fix, but is there any suggestions out there as to the culprit of the problem.
Sorry for my terminolgy, I haven't quite grasp the actual names of each individual piece. Will work on it though
Damn I'm disappointed..
