retro full face helmet
« on: February 09, 2008, 08:41:54 PM »
Looking for a retro looking full face helmet. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes one? Lots of NOS Buco helmets on ebay but they are open face and I would prefer a modern helmet for safety.

What makes it retro?  And why wouldn't you want all the advantages of experience, modern materials and design, etc?

If you get a solid colour helmet, you can also get an applique kit and do your own stripes, etc.

Your friendly neighborhood Body 'n' Paint shop should be able to apply any color scheme that your heart desires.

They could even paint the bike to match the helmet.

Happy trails.

Sparx has a retro-ish helmet... Though there has been some controversy.  Webbikeworld gave them a very favorable review, others haven't been as kind.

I really like the look of this Arai Phil Read replica helmet. It came out right after I bought my current helmet. Damn! :D

AGV has a sweet model called the S-4 in a few different stripe/color combos.  kind of retro with a good name behind them.  kind of pricey, though, but what is your head worth?  don't know how to post a link, but go to parts unlimited's website and look for page 249 of the 2007 street catalog.

I do not want to speak for anyone, but i believe the post was for a retro styled helmet, not a retro styled paint job, am I correct?

My buddies over at Biltwell are coming out with a retro full face helmet as well. Not sure it will be dot and may not even come with a visor like the early full face styles, but non the less they may be freaking real cool like the 3/4 open face style that they had in the early 70's.

Man all those just look like modern stuff to me..
I really thought retro would mean like a Bell Star and a Shoei  back in the 70,s
