New Guy From Indiana

Hey, my name is Jon Thornburg and I'm from East Central Indiana. I just bought my first bike last year. It is a '76 CB550 with slightly over 5,000 original miles on it. I'm an auto mechanic who is in college to become something other than a mechanic (no offensive to you techs out there, but it's just not what I want to do with the rest of my life). The bike is in relatively good shape. I have rebuilt the carbs, put on a new points/condenser plate greased the swingarm, set the tappet lash, and done several other logical steps on the road to perfect performance. I am still waiting on some parts so I haven't started the bike again since the carb rebuild and points plate installation, so its not dialed in yet. I have statically set the points dwell and timing. I intend to synchronize the carbs and check the dwell and timing while running. If you have any ideas or anythings that I should be concerned about please drop me a line. Happy Riding.
