Assembling Progressive shocks and springs
« on: August 05, 2005, 11:05:38 AM »
I might be ordering some progressive 12 series shocks and springs but they will be coming in seperate pieces.  Are these easy to assemble or is it better to bring them somewhere and have them professionaly put together.  I will be getting the HD 95/140 springs.  Progressive recommends the HD for riders 200lbs and up and Standard for 200lbs and less.
Thanks
Chris

They are not that hard to assemble.

The trick is compressing the spring.

The way to do this without the special tool?

Zip ties. Use about 6 zip ties spaced equally around the spring. Tighten each one up a little at a time. After the spring is compressed pop the spring and shock together.

Takes a little longer than a compression tool but its Cheap.
