need a new 1980 cb650 tanks options
« on: February 25, 2008, 07:37:31 AM »
I need a tank mine has a hole in it. what tanks would work with this bike. I am pretty sure only the 80 cb650 had this exact tank and all the other years were different. I am thinking of possibly going to and aftermarket tank but dont know how easy it would be to match up...i was looking on ebay...anyone have a tank for an 80 or any options would be appreciated.

You could use any 81 and 82 standard but get the petcock and adapt the hose size.

how hard would it be to adapt the hose size.

I've got a dent free, leak free 79 cb650 tank i'm selling. I'm pretty sure it fits 80 cb650 as well.

79 is mounted diff in rear.  Wish they would fit without abunch of BS as they are a gallon or so bigger.  Would need to redo the seat also.
I always thought of those screw together metal filters.  1 of each size and swap ends.  I did run a 80 tank on my 81 just tightned the clamp more.
