Thanks, friends.  Say, Hoodell...I seem to have missed replacing one spring and ball (the larger of the two that came from the unit).  I see one under that red switch knob...do you recall placement of the other?  Attached are pics of my restored unit, minus a couple pieces.

If I recall, one spring and ball was on the red switch, as you obsereved. The other was in that little plastic slider that works the lights. The ball rides in the grooves that correspond to the different headlight settings. I remember it being a pain in the butt to put back together. On second thought, everything in that switch was a pain in the butt to put back together
