Topic: Single disk vs double disk

I've owned 2 CB650s, my old 81 and an 80 that is coming on Saturday.  The new one will have dual disks with single piston calipers.  I think the old one had a single disk with a dual piston caliper.  Which setup is likely to give better braking.  I'd think the dual setup but one person said othewise.

Depends how aggressive you are.  for most street a single is fine.
If you have some track time I think duals would be better but that makes more weight also.  If your that aggressive youll be doing some up upgrades anyway.

I was more wondering about the efficiency of a dual piston single disk vs a single piston dual disk.

Sorry the 82s might have had dual piston but not sure.  So if your 80 had dual piston it not stock. I have looked at some of the other honda models of the time and there was some dual pistons that look like they would bolt on. As for whats better I wouldnt know off hand.

Yeah, '82 had dual pistons, '80 and '81 had single pistons.

Never parted out a 82 and have only seen one and forgot to look at them.  I knew the 82 silverwing had dual piston.
