Brookesy's K1 - finally
« on: August 08, 2005, 02:43:55 AM »
I just have to tell somebody.
I Picked up a K1 750/4 on the weekend... Ye-friggin'-Ha!!!!
Where? - less that 5 minutes drive from here - no joke!

It's complete, running and 98% original. It has seen better days but it's all there.
A few K2 bits (chrome headlight supports etc.) but otherwise all good.
And - a good set of HM300 pipes - yes folks you heard me correctly - 300!!

2 owners before me - the first from 1971 until 1997. It hasn't been ridden since 1998
It was apparently in the second shipment to arrive in Oz.

What else... a set of panniers, spare tank, centre stand, crash bars. Some 341 pipes
Original Honda tool kit!! and some other bits that will come in handy for the "special" i want to build later.

It won't idle but cleaning the carby's might solve that and getting the seat recovered will see it almost on the road.
Everything else works - it was roadworthy when put in the shed.

Am i happy? do you need to ask?

I'm off to the shed to gloat a little.
Might even take some pics on the weekend to post.

Brookesy.

I spent a few hours this weekend just tinkering.
i took off the hideous crash bars, sprayed some penetrating oil here and there.
contemplated the task of taking the carbs off to clean them
put air in the tyres and generally mucked about with her.

A full rebuild seems a huge task - so i'll get her running properly and see where it leads
