Dyna 5.0 ohm coils on CB750

The topic of dyna 3.0 ohm coils has been gone over quite a bit here, but I'm not finding much on the 5.0 ohm coils.  Everybody seems to really like how their bike runs after slapping in some 3.0 ohm dynas aside from the occasional charging issues.  I guess my question is- Has anybody ran a set of Dyna 5 ohm coils on their sohc 750?  How do they perform?  My bike is a 1974 CB750 and I'm running stock Honda coils with a Dyna-s ignition.  I'm getting ready to upgrade coils due to the fact that I picked up a set of new wires, and the stock coils on my bike have integral wires so that I cannot simply change the wires w/out changing coils.  I also just got a set of the NGK iridium plugs, but I'm not going to use them until I get the coil situation squared away.  Anybody?

The stock coils are 5 ohm resistance, so no issues there.  I have the Dyna 5 ohm on my 750.

There is a tip on how to replace the wires in the Tips section.  You can basically splice new coper core spark plug wire into the old coils either in the middle of the cable or inside the coil by cutting into it with a dremel.  But yeah, there is no problem using 5 ohm coils with Dyna S.

I really want to use my new 8mm taylor wires, but I'm also shooting for some enhanced perfomance.  Would I get any perfomance gain from switching to the dynas? I would guess not being that thier basically the same output as the stock coils right?

The Dyna coils put out a stronger spark than the stock coils. 

On a side note, what's the benefit of the taylor wires?

The Taylor wires are just alot newer.  The plug wires I'm running are from'74, have been stripped, trimmed, and barely fit onto my plugs.  Basically just trying to do a overall tune-up w/ performance in mind.

Well, I just picked up some 5.0 ohm coils on the cheap.  I am getting ready to tackle spring tune up and re-assembly of my freshly painted CB750.  I've got a fresh hi-perf battery, spankin' new NGK irridium plugs, New 8mm wires, and as far as I know my charging system is fine.  I've been reading alot of old threads about 3 vs. 5 ohm and I am torn about which I should put on my bike.  Is there any reason I shouldn't go ahead and install the 5.0 ohm ones I just aquired, or should I sell/ trade for a set of 3 ohms?
