Topic: Aluminum and chrome brackets ? not headlight!

With the Tracy bike build, the only place I can attach the rear signals is off the the top shock mount.

I need a slim chrome or aluminum piece to bolt onto the top shock bolt and then I can mount the rear signals behind a bit.

Any one have a web link to a good site for accessory bracket stock?

Do you want something that threads on to the stud & holds the light and lets the wire out the stalk.. that would be cleanest.. and I could make something..

Cyclexchange sells this Bike Builder Big Bag Of Brackets for 10 bucks.  Perhaps one of these will work for you?




J&P has these brackets for about nine bucks each.





Or, why not just make some out of aluminum bar stock?

the tab end could mount on the shock stud with a light (stock-ish type mounting) clamped on the tube end.

I'm with Mystic, why don't you just make one with bar stock alum?  It would polish up real nice and it would be exactly the dimensions you want.

How about one off these mounts.  You could mount it somewhere else besides the shock mounts.

go to the hardware store. look for stainless U bolt brackets.
they come in all different sizes.
throw the U bolt away keep the plate, and there you go.
mine were $3.50

if you are going to go up to 3 inches back from the shock, and hold anything near the weight of a stock signal, there will be vibration issues. I am thinking, because the frame is chromed, it is lessening your choices.

Could you work of the original rear fender hole and go forward? It would be tucked in further and give a firmer mounting location.

I realize that you are running the Tracy body.

So I will ask is the rear fender mount (rearmost tip of the frame) visible from the side, yes or no?

Show a pic of the blinking things, and we can advise. It would look cLEANER coming off the back mount, than adding to the shock.
