crash bars

hi all
been hunting for a set of crash bars for the old girl for quite a while with no luck i can get my hands on a set for a cb750 and wondered if any one can tell me if they fit without a lot of trouble or where to find a proper set
the old girls a 1977 cb550k3

Hi,
Since those crash bars in the picture bolt into the same holes as for the engine mount bolts, I doubt that the ones for a 750 would mount to a 500/550. Ones for a 650 may, since the 650 and 550 use essentially the same block.
I just threw away a set for my 550, but the previous owner had tested the integrity of the crashbars with a right side slide down the road. The worst damage I found aside from lights being broken was that the crash bar had bent backwards and punched a hole through the clutch cover. It definately saved the engine cases.

whats a set with 3 mounting points look like i have thought of engine bobbins as they are only extensions to the mounting bolts in ally

i think i know what you mean never seen any like that but it dosent sound to dificult to modify a two mounting point set  or the bobbin idea might be a better option gives me something to think about any way

just a update on the crash bars got a set that fits ok cb 500 ones fit with no modifications david silver has some in stock at the moment i got my set off ebay only 2 point fixing though look just like the picture but in chrome
