I got the sprockets ordered on Tuesday, they were deliverd Wednesday but don't forget I am working 12 hour nights and am in bed during the day. :( :( :(
All will be sorted tonight (Friday) I hope.
I just went searching to see if I could pull up anything on the venue for Sundays meeting, take a look at this place.

If you look at the 3rd picture down, the start line is in the dip and we race towards the camera.
The finish line is where you start to see the road in front of you and we turn left where the wall is ( right to you) into the paddock which is behind the large bushes on the right of the picture.

It is quite scenic guys, the tall bushes that line the driveway are very old rhododendrons, they are a fantastic sight when in bloom.

I would kill for a day sprinting back and forth in a setting that beautiful :o ;D ;D

Well Sean, if I had invited you over for a day out sprinting with us on Sunday, you would have probally have killed me :( :( :(
After last weekends scorcher at Santa Pod, this Sundays meeting was just the oposite.
We woke Sunday morning to be greeted by 3" of snow.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
As we drove north to the venue, it seemed to be less server, but the temps were well below freezing.
We suited up, signed on and went through technical inspection in the hope it would warm up and the track dry out.
As i had raced at the venue several times, I chose to miss practice and sent Chris out to do a siting run.
He said it was very slick and decided to miss his second practice run until the track was dryer.
By mid day and the start of the meeting, people were still complaining about the slickness of the surface.
Knowing full well how easy it is to make a mistake at this track and the limited amount of time that I had had on the RS, I chose to wait a little longer.
Chris went out and I walked down to the finishing line where you can got a good view down to the start, just 220 yards away.
I had missed Chris's 1st practice run but some of the crowd around me certainly hadn't.
When the commentator announced Chris to the line, some of the crowd started to get excited and went berserk when he got a flier off the line and screamed the bike up the hill. The announcement that followed had them all cheering. On his first attempt at this hill, he was in first place by over half a second.
The news to him on his return to the paddock had him grinning like the Cheshire Cat ;D ;D ;D ;D
Then came the snow and as far as I was concerned it was over, the track surface was much to cold for my tyre and also a little damp.
I told Chris to be careful as he got ready to go out for his second run. He had had a look at the track and said there was a dry line provided he could keep to the centre of the track.
He tried to launch the bike with a few more revs to try to better his first run but it ended in disaster when the tyre broke traction.
He was six tenths of a second slower than his first run but remained in the lead with the weather deteriorating.
I told him not to risk a third and final run as I doughted anyone bettering his time with the track worsening by the minute.
He got beat by thirteen hundredths of a second,
He came away quite pleased with his accomplishment but sad at loosing out at the last minute and by such a small margin.
What with the weather and him loosing out like that I was a bit pissed off, but after a few pints in the pub later we were all smiles again ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D.

Sam,
Just be sure to get your record run in before the weather gets too warm, that cold air will add some extra power to that engine.  It is amazing what a few degrees in temp will do to for an engine.  But you know that, right? ;)

You're right there Art, jetting a two stroke for optimum performance in relation to the weather is a science unto itself.
Anyone racing two strokes and are serious have weather stations and use them minutes before running.
It's not just temperature, air pressure and density have to be taken into account as well.

How are you mending?

For sure Sam.  Air pressure, density/humidity, temp., and elevation all factor in and can make or break a record run.  Ideally you want a cool day, low humidity, high barometric pressure, and a sea level run.

Temperature. Hot weather requires a leaner mixture setting; cold weather requires a richer setting. Most people assume the opposite because they treat the mixture needle like a thermostat. It is wrong to assume that colder weather requires a leaner setting to keep heat in the engine and vice versa. Cold air is denser than hot air. The denser, colder air packs more oxygen into the engine, so going from hot weather to cold needs a commensurate increase of fuel to balance ratio of fuel-burning oxygen and the fuel itself. The opposite is true in hotter weather. Going from cold to hot weather requires a leaner mixture setting.

Humidity. Humidity is the amount of moisture (water vapor) in the air. Moisture in the air takes up volume that would otherwise be occupied by fuel-burning oxygen. Less oxygen means less fuel is required to maintain a proper ratio of air and fuel. High humidity requires a leaner mixture setting than dry conditions.

Barometric pressure. A barometer measures the atmospheric pressure (generally listed in the local newspaper or on the local weather forecast on TV). Higher barometric pressure readings mean more air is getting into the engine, requiring a richer mixture setting to balance the air/fuel ratio.

Altitude. Altitude is an important factor that most of us ignore, yet it affects the engine’s performance possibly more than any other element. The general formula for power loss with increases in altitude is 3 percent for every 1,000 feet above sea level. If you race in Colorado at 5,000 feet instead of in California at sea level, you can expect to lose about 15 percent of the engine’s potential power output, if the engine is tuned properly.
Air is thinner at higher altitudes, which means there’s less fuel-burning oxygen than at sea level. You might sense a common theme here: less air (oxygen) means less fuel to maintain the proper air/fuel ratio. So, running at higher altitudes requires a leaner mixture setting than running at sea level.

I didn't mention altitude because, we don't have any, what we do have is atitude ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

The highest we have raced at was only 700 fasl but we don't race there anymore, so no problem. ::)
