Ah the good old days...Mamola, Spencer, Lawson.....

I used to have a great pic of Gardner coming out from under the Dunlop Bridge at Surfers Paradise raceway with smoke coming off both wheels....awesome stuff.. Mamola was a favourite of mine and i still have my Mamola Arai helmet..... ;)

WOW! I love that bike. the tank and seat are so cool how they are not just flat but have detail to them. And that swingarm and monoshock are great, makes me feel like $hit on my build, but i do feel a little better knowing that he has a lot more money, resources, skills then i do.

And shame on you greenjeans if you have never posted that before.

I've posted some build pics in here before.  I'm kinda lagging behind because it's still a work in progress.

But.....  Here's what he's doing to it now - tank and seat cowl are going to be etched.  You can barely catch the
leather seat - but it's cool as well.   Doesn't seem fair.  Enjoy:

doesn't look like much, until you watch this video:

... ...

and read this article: http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/custom%20bikes/2wd_yamaha_r1.htm

VERY trick and quite simple!

Is that true?? Driving both wheels is more fuel-economic than just rear wheel?

He specifically said in off-road applications. That would make sense as the rear is spinning all the time wasting fuel. Better traction would increase fuel economy. He finished by saying "better efficiency in some application" or some such.  Probably not on pavement I'd guess.

If an all wheel drive car cant get better mph then a 2wd i doubt a 2wd bike will do better the a standard bike.

I think its more to do with the drive system, 4 wheel drive cars like the GTR skyline are a lot heavier than their 2 wheeled counterparts, that bike only has a small pump and wouldn't need as much throttle to get going because it would require less effort with both wheels being driven, it would be interesting to know either way though.... ;)

Anyone know what this black exhaust is?  Pretty much exactly what I want for my bike.

Do a search for the Mantlepiece. Jewel Hendricks was behind it.
