Shady brakes
« on: March 31, 2008, 07:42:25 PM »
Hey guys, I took down my cylinder and piston for my brakes, cleaned, lubed and reassembled.  The piston was pitted, with several pockmarks of varying sizes.  However, my brakes work fine, except for a little squealing - they are stiff, but lately are starting to squeal, about 100 miles after the service.  I know I need a new piston, but money is tight, and pistons are like $100 - but am i taking my life into my hands when i ride it?  brakes seem pretty important.... ;D

EDIT: OOPS! meant to post this in the SOHC4 Bikes Tech forum, not Projects, if a mod sees thsi, move it please, ty :)
