New ringset for my 400F. Is "right side up" obvious?
« on: April 06, 2008, 06:51:40 PM »
I ordered 4 sets of these through my local honda shop (almost $40 a pop..damn).  I got my old rings off, and my pistons cleaned up.  Is it obvious which way the rings go in?  Does it matter?  In other words, do I have chance of getting these in upside down?

There should be a small letter, or dot on the top side of the ring to denote the "this side up" side.... Hope this helps!

Yup, When you install the oil control rings upside down, they do a really good job of pumping oil up into the cylinder. DAMHIK
