Topic: CB 500 Electrical Q?

I've done some modifications to my mostly CB500 and It's been so long getting it together a few things have slipped my mind in the lighting area.

 Main thing is the tailight, it isn't stock but I've used the wires and socket,  I'm aware it's dual filament but it doesn't Illuminate during normal operation, but lights up when I apply the brakes, I can't recall if this is normal just seems like it should be on as a running light as well.

A stock cb500 had a General light switch.  The tail running light was on when the switch was on as was the headlight.

yes, it should have tail light and brake light functions.  Are both filaments good?  Here is a wiring diagram, stock of course.

hook the separate wires up to your battery and find out if both filaments are working.  One should be dim and the other bright.  If you use the wrong wire for ground it will only have one brightness for both wires.  Once you know what wire is for what indicator you can wire it all up without much problem.

 Thanks for the suggestions I got all the wiring nicely sorted out and it turned out to be a ground problem
