Topic: Grab bars

Hi, I have a 1975 CB550K1.  I am trying to find out what the difference is on the grab bar from a 1977 CB550F and my bike. I have looked on the Honda parts sites and the part number is different for the bar but the fender and the tail light bracket part numbers are the same.  Surrounding parts are the same, so it should fit, right....... yaaa.  My bike came without a grab bar and all I have is a picture of the 1977 bar.

The grab bar is different on the F & the K.  They may fit but they are not the same.  I don't currently have the grab bar on Jasper to show you the difference between Jasper & Cassandra, but I am going to pull up some pics to see if you can see the difference:

You will see that the F is more curved up in the back, and that they bolt on about the same.  I prefer the K to the F any day because it looks more like a low profile than a big goofy grab bar.

are you getting a deal on the 77 part? If not, then why not order the correct 75 part? Discounthondaparts.com appears to have it for a little over $40.

The grab bars are more or less conformal to the shape of the seat.  The F model seats are different than the K models.

Got to love this site! Thanks to all that replied, especially Hope with the pics.  I will check out service honda (cheaper). I thought the bar was discontinued.
