Good engine gasket set
« on: April 09, 2008, 02:38:52 PM »
I asked this question in the middle of another post, and I think it got a bit lost, so I thought I would throw it out there.  I am wondering what enging gasket sets people have used and recommend.  Rather than ordering separate OEM parts from hondaparts-direct, I was hoping to get a full set, but have seen plenty of posts where people state they will never use an Athena gasket set again, etc.  So I am curious - are there are gasket sets that people would recommend?

Usually Service Honda has complete OEM gasket sets.  http://www.servicehonda.com/
e.g. Gasket Set A(top end) and B(bottom end)

don't know what bike your talking about, but they have a real good parts search.

Athena will short change you on O-rings, but I've heard the quality is good. Also heard good things about Cometic.

I used Athena gaskets, and the head gasket was good.  The other gaskets like for the clutch cover and stator cover weeped oil after a while.  Seemed like they were oil wicks.
