Big-Jim's welding
« on: April 11, 2008, 06:20:45 PM »
I sent a carb with a broken mounting tab to Big Jim, to see if he could do anything with it.  He did, it's a great job, and it was very reasonable.  If you need something small welded, I recommend him.

Here's the carb before
And after.

He saved my a$$.

That's great jtb..

Why don't you give a contact number for "Big Jim"?   Most of these carbs are die cast "pot metal" which an inexperienced welder (like myself in past) can f-up if not very careful.  Seems like not a big deal to send carbs (or other small parts) to anywhare in U.S. Think it would be helpful to other SOHC 4 members if they had the contact number(s) for Big Jim.

Thanks,

Jim is a member here mate, and "Big Jim" is his SOHC4 handle.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Terry..

Guess it isn't big deal..but there are actually two "Big Jim" SOHC 4 members..though in reading their profiles it's obvious who's the welder of the two.   It is helpful to have contacts explained just a bit more in posts.  Thanks for the info.
