750k comstars?
« on: April 11, 2005, 02:53:40 AM »
I just picked up a load of parts, they include lots of wheels including a pair of OE Honda comstars with a drum brake at the rear. Anyone come accross these before?

Are you sure it's not off a Superdream?

I realy don't know, just came with a van load of parts and everything else is either K2 F1 or F2. I need to have a closer look I think.

I think those wheels came stock on the 1978 CB750A.  I'm not sure if they were spec'd on any other Hondas.

The European CB650Z had silver Comstars :)
Also the GL1000's and CBX1000's had silver Comstars. And as already mentioned, the 400 Superdream and the 750 F2.

Thanks, I think the 750B looks close, they have the plastic guards/clips arround the end of the spokes, I don't remember seeing these on other comstars. Then again I have only had one bike with them fitted (CB125TA) and that didn't have them, it didn't have much else most of the time either, until the Police took a look........oh to be a teenager again! Front guards and brakes held together with bailing twine, bolts for fuses a bit of rag wedged into the rust holes in the exhaust, those were the days. Oh yeah it had a cable operated disc brake at the front, the only other bike I've seen with that was an MV Agusta 650 (black pig) and they don't stop either (do they Alan). ;D

 ;D

A friend of mine who lives in Dallas have got a CB200 rwin with a cable operated front disk brake.

Anyway, I like the silver Comstars. And they are very easy to keep clean. :)
