Yes,
great museum.

In '86-- the first weekend was rained out, but for those who showed up (about 250,00 of us ) they ran the
1st Indy winner--the 1911 Marmon Wasp--around the track several times---good sounding machine !

I was there in 92, still the closest finish in Indy 500 history! Little Al beat Scott Goodyear by leas than a car length! DAMN was it cold that year! Roberto Guerrero, the Pole Sitter, spun out on the pace lap! Michael Andretti SHOULD have won that race! He was totally dominant until lap 188 when the old Andretti luck caught him out and his race was finished because of a simple o-ring failure.

 The whole month of May used to be fabulous and now with the reunification I am hoping for a return to glory!

Jimmy Clark was my first motor sports inspiration. I would have loved to see him, and was completely bummed when he died at Hockenheim. I think I must have learned about him from my dad's Road & Track mags, although it could have been Wide World of Sports. He also inspired me to drive a couple of Lotus 7's and early Europas. Unfortunately, I don't think I can currently fit in either of those!

Saw Jimmy Clark racing a Ford escort at Sebring in '65.
In those days the top drivers raced everything every weekend.
