what cb550 performance upgrades should i do

is ther any worthwhile mods io can do to cy 76 cb550 to increase its power sans a bore kit , i only have 300-400 to spend. woukd electronic ign really help? 4 into 1? bigger carbs? camshaft? head work?

  Here's the plan for my '77 550f:  Get it back in prime running condition and THEN worry about making performance mods.  That way, you'll definitely be able to tell.  I mean, why go to hotter plugs if your points are shot? See what I mean?
  How are you in that department?  By chance it's been sitting a while, and I hate to say this because everyone seems to, check the FAQ under maintenance.
