Comstar conversion
« on: May 14, 2008, 09:56:50 pm »
I picked up a pair of 78 CB400 comstars from Ebay and installed them on my 76 cb550. all i had to do was replace some bearings for the axels to fit, and make some spacers to take up the slack. They ride well and look great, but the rear is off center. The sprockets and chain are lined up. the wheel itself is 1/2" to the left when looking at it from behind. Has anyone resolved this situation first hand? Any pointers? My build is posted : Cary nc cb550 Thanks
I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo. What the hell am I doin' here? -Radiohead-

i am planning on doing this. what bearings did you have to change? from what i have been reading to center the wheel you need to shave down the sprocket carrier and space it over. You may have figured this out already, this is an old post. Could you let me know how it worked out and possibly some pictures?
