here is my pics of before with the glass fuses and here is my finished product with a new harness plug and painted cover (to somewhat match the "original" black cover) this will be great incase i blow a fuse i can stop ANYWHERE and get a fuse IE: Gas station, autoparts store, grocery store... ect!

i got a 4 post fuse box and some sheet metal and painted it so the clear cover didnt show the fuses off and that is how it turned out!

All the 4 slot boxes I've seen have been really bulky.  That's a nice find.

i used the top one just painted it and made a bracket and bought a vintage plug from Z1 and used some heat shrink tubing and soldered the wires on the fuse block so they will never come off and that was just about it it looked clean and is very funtional like i said i didnt want to get stuck... somewhere and be out of fuses plus i can "add" another circut to the bike if i want i'm debating a bike alarm later and that fuse would be perfect.

I just got 3 inline blade fuse holders, cut the original box off, and soldered the fuseholders inline.

Not nearly as pretty, but 100% functional.  I was suprised how fast my starter spins with the new fuses.

PLUS, you can buy automotive blade fuses at any gas station on the planet, the glass fuses are a crapshoot.

People, there is NO reason, short of authenticity to stay with the glass fuses.  Make the switch!!

Agreed! works great! as you can see on my pics i wanted my fuse holder to be funtional and look somewhat stock i would of done what you did except i didnt have my original fuse cover that is why i made the switch!

the best part about that 4 blade fuse box is if you want to add an accessory like a cigarette lighter (to charge your cell phone or power your gps) you have the extra fuse slot to connect it to.

I had to rewire mine last night, I had already swapped over to the blade style, but the connectors fried.  Mine is nowhere near that nice, but it works and it gets me to where I need to go.  In hind sight though, I should have just put the fuses straight onto the wiring harness, shear stupidity on my part.

it is very nice looking i was critical of it at first but you guys seem to like it alot and now i think i'm much happier with the outcome. i always hate my work i do if it is remotely artistic  i can cut and draw straight lines only with a striaght edge.

Actually in all seriousness, if you relay your ignition or your or headlight (or both!) extra slots for fuses is good thing.  I relayed the ignition on my 750 (gained about 1 volt at the coils) and have a separate fuse for the new power line.  Would be nice to have blade fuses for everything all in one spot.

I like yours except that fuse box is HUGE it doesnt look very stock and hidden like the stock box other than that it looks good keep up the good work!

tahnx dude, yeah it is bad, but i epoxied it to the original base, so it fits well, it was the only one i could get on short notice... my box melted, seemed the po put a peice of aloy foil under the fuse were i couldnt see it, and i had a bare wire.... melted box...lol

i did all my stuff myself now granted i'm a ASE cert mechanic but still all i did was follow same color codes and solder the wires up and anyone with some basic set of tools can do the mod that i did it was not dificult! i think my pictures speak for themselves

i agree, take one off, put it on the new box, take another one off, put it on the other box, if you keep it simple its easy, or you could draw your old box before you pull it apart, then just follow you drawing to the other box, really easy.
