I've been lurking for a few months and have already posted a couple times but now that I have some preliminary pics I thought I would formally introduce myself.
I live in southwest Michigan and work at a local ISP as an IT Technician. My love has always been computers so after I graduated from high school two years ago I started at Michigan Tech as a Software Engineer major. My hobby, my job and my education have all been in computers which I still love but that much commitment makes you a bit...bored after awhile. I ended up purchasing my fathers CB750 a couple of months ago after I fell in love with it about a year ago. It's stripped down pretty well and has been that way for about 25 years as my dad originally took it apart to re-chrome and rebuild it but never made it past the tear down phase. My brother and I were cleaning out the garage when we uncovered the frame (we were forbidden to touch it as kids) and it just clicked. Not all flash like a Harley but not alot of plastic like a crotch rocket and above all else I just fit well on it, almost the perfect hight for my inseam. Anyway I bought it as a project, almost a puzzle, for the next couple summers to rebuild and eventually get on the road. So without further blabbing here she is!
I think this is why the rebuild didn't go as planned! I may have to push it around the yard to get it to turn over a mile.
Alot of pieces like the tank, seat and other misc. pieces are in storage so I'll have to get pictures some other time. As of now I think I am going towards the cafe route. Originally I was going to go stock but I do not have the original exhaust, seat and my dad had the tank repainted and it didn't turn out at all! It was supposed to be candy apple red but came out crap brown.
