When I grow up...
« on: August 26, 2005, 03:58:00 AM »
This is Gas.(humerous)
We have a "National" run here for all pre-60's bikes, they come from the US, UK etc. AJS, BSA, Nortons and on.......and on
One of my buddies was driving the rescue / breakdown van, and came accross an "Incident"
Bike with side car had crashed out, driver on the ground with some injuries, broken leg / arm or something....not the end of the world.
Anyway my buddie had left his cigarettes behind and noticed this bloke sitting on the ditch with his walking stick, borowed a cigarette from him and commenced conversation. "So there wasn't anyone in the side car? was there?" "Ya....me", says the ol' fella. Slight scratch on his face, other than that ...not a bother as he produces the "drop" from his brest pocket and takes a swig and takes another pull from his non tipped. This guys about 75. ! (cool as a breeze on a frosty morning, and totally un daunted by the incident)
Turns out he was the stunt driver for Steve McQueen in all his biking movies.
Into the Ambulance.....another swig. "You can't drink that here ".........."Ya....I hope there is a smoking section in this" 8)

It hurts to admit when you've made mistakes, But when the're big enough, the pain only lasts a second
