Topic: Long shot question regarding brake pedal spline....

I bought some used Raask rearsets off of eBay that took 2 1/2 months to get here but that's another story all together. They were for a cb900f and I am going to use the pegs and linkages for my 78 cb750f3. It appears that the brake actuator spline is smaller for the newer cb900. I could probably make it work but I don't want to force it too much. Just wanted to pass it by you fellers before taking drastic measures into my own hands. I may just cut down my existing brake pedal and weld a bracket to make my own actuator. I see that some others have done the same.

Yeah I braized a bracket onto mine, no problems so far.

I have to ask the stupid obvious question here but.....why didn't you buy the raask rearsets for the SOHC cb750 F2/F3? They do make them you know....

You can order individual parts from raask....I forget if Omar's will do it for you but I know you can contact raask directly and tell them what pieces you want. A long time ago the pegs on my H1 raask rearsets cracked and I e-mailed raask and they sold me new pegs.

also I don't know how you are going to get those 900F backing plates to fit since they have a different mounting system from the cb750F2/3 SOHC bikes...or did you make the fatal error and assume they are all the same?

I got them off of eBay UK really cheap. The brackets will not be used as I have another plan but the linkages will work perfect. I did contact Omar's but I confused them with what I was looking for and in the end the little metal actuator was going to be $75. LOL. Gimmie a break. I guess they are made of Platinum. I'm just going to weld a $.05 piece of iron to the existing brake pedal spline to make it work. All is good. I'll post pics once I'm done.

If it will help I'll buy the parts you are not using off you....I own a 900F and could use those rearset brackets to make my own. Heck I might even be able to trade you for a set of generic mount tarozzi pegs.

YOu could contact jimhinshaw on ebay - he sells tarozzi rearsets and they have a similar splined brake arm for their cb750 rearsets and see what the part costs for him to get it for you.

welding a tab to you existing brake is going to be the cheapest option. The tooling to make splines is extremely expensive.
