« on: June 09, 2008, 11:11:45 AM »
It get so dam hot with the jacket, the boots, the helmet.  There has to be a better way!  I walk out the door and just start pouring and it's just in the mid 70's.   >:(

What riding gear do you guys use in the hot months?

Full face helmet, leather gloves, jeans and boots...my only saving grace is my J.R. Phoenix jacket...with the liner out it is like wearing a football jersey...the mesh lets so much air through but still has the armor...

What are you guys paying for the mesh?  $100....$200....more?

Also, will it really protect your skin if your sliding across the pavement?

In hot weather I switch to a vest, but I wear the leather jacket when I can stand it because a leather is very little "protection" indeed.  My jacket has zipper vents front and back, and on the arms, so it can be tolerable a lot of the time.

First Gear kevlar mesh jacket with armor.  First Gear (I think) kevlar mesh gloves with carbon fiber armor and suede-like gripping surfaces.  Jeans, boots.

I paid $129 plus tax for my Nitro jacket.

It's got all the armor in the right places but I doubt the mesh will hold up if needed, at least not like leather.

Check this one out guys.

http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Galleries_IndividualPhoto.aspx?Gallery=554&Main=11&Sub=16&Image=14491&PostBack=1&Media=1

As well as sprinting and drag racing this bike, it was my daily ride.

When I was on days, I would meet up with a lovely young thing on a scooter.

I was turning right across a dual carriageway and she would be waiting to turn right going the other way.

OK, no white leathers but I did wear a colourfull riding jacket and the helmet as in my avatar with fully tinted visor.

We didn't know one another despite living in the same small village but she would allways give me a wave and the odd time a wink ::)

I used to think, if the poor girl knew what she was waving to behind that blacked out visor ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

This went on for quite a while and eventually I got into the village and saw her coming out of a side road where a mate of mine lived.

The next time I saw him, I asked if he knew of a pretty young thing that rode a scooter that might live down his road.

Not only did he know her, he knew where she worked, it turned out that she was a waitress in a pubs restaurant in the next village.

You've guessed it, we went for a meal and a few pints (the mates name was Ronnie) to the pub she worked in.

We sat down at a table and she came over to take our order. She said hello to Ronnie and Ronnie said to her, you know my mate

Sam from Hollins Green. No she replied, I don't think so..........Yes you do he said, you regularly wave to him at the carriageway

junction on your way to work. She went all red faced as she walked away. A  different waitress tended to us and we could see her

down the other end of the restaurant. ;D ;D  She never waived again :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
