FZR600 rearset mount pics?
« on: June 12, 2008, 11:48:55 AM »
i have been seraching the forums and found Triffecpa  uses fzr600 rear sets.

However i have not found a picture of them and how they are mounted!!

does anyone  have a picture of FZR600 rearsets mounted on their bikes?

yes, I use them on both sides.  I simply welded a 4" long piece of 1x1x1/8 angle iron directly to the frame rail that goes from the swing arm pivot to the rear shock mount.  Drilled some mounting holes and bolted on the rearsets.

Did the same thing to my CB400F race bike as well as my CB750.

no pics but I can tell you that fzr600 rearsets are "bolt through" design, which means you could polt them through your passenger peg mount if you wanted to.

take a look at this post on caferacer for what can be done with a saw, drill press, and a set of both through rearsets (in this case tarozzi).

these are actually how dunstall rearsets are constructed also, with u-bolts holding the plate to the frame rubes that connect to make the passenger peg mounts.

The fzr600 rearsets used to be a good alternative to the expensive generic foot pegs, but you don't see as many sets come up on ebay as there used to be and while they used to be $15 per set, they seem to be $15 per side.
