I bought this micro mesh set back when I was making knives and used it to put the final polish on both the metal blade as well as the finished wood handle. I've had the kit for a few years now and it still works great. It goes as fine as 12,000 grit.
I've recently been using it for polishing aluminum on various bike bits and it works very well.
