TinTop: Thanks I think.
As to the speed of the build, I knew it would take a long time, but not this long. We've run into many a roadblock that required backing up and starting over. Rusty gas tank, mismatched lower legs, front wheel sizing, etc. But we've been pretty steady at a few hours every week hardly missing a week.
the build theme was: "all the things that I'd wished I could do back when i was riding it regularly, I'll do". That list keeps growing as we go. I'd never even heard of cryogenics when I was riding it, but we added that to the list, and lots more.
I've been on the MotionPro website for custom cables. They have this "ArmorCoat" stainless braid with clearcoat and chrome fittings that sounds like it will match the Goodridge brake hoses. We may have to have them.
And by we i mean me and my "build buddy" Bruce who stays pretty well in the background. But he's a great friend that got me going on the project once again many years ago by offering to come over every Sunday AM "for a few months" to "finish" Phaedrus. Its been his steady Freddie encouragement that's kept us at it so long. He's barely missed a Sunday going on 3.5 years. He mentioned once it was kinda meditative for him as well.
My Mom says we're going to Church. She always says she'll call after Church.
So I am a little apprehensive that after all this we'll go to start it and something won't be right. But can't let that get in the way. Its only nuts and bolts and anything can be fixed.
So I'm ordering a new sub-harness and gear shift pedal today. The original harness has hardened into a stick. I thought i could use it, but..
And the shift pedal has this nasty gash in it where I dug it into the pavement during some swift left hand turns. No such blemishes allowed.
Our target dates keep getting pushed back, but they keep us going. Thanskgiving for a start. That gives us winter for fixing problems and getting a paint job. Then a Spring rollout.
