Another head gasket leak question
« on: July 03, 2008, 04:33:33 AM »
Bike: 71 CB750K1 with 17,000 miles. Can anyone here tell why my head gasket will seep oil in the two outer front corners one day and be completely dry on the next? Or one side will leak and the other will stay dry? The leaks aren't exactly drips just oil sort of oozing out and getting the edge of the gasket wet. My guess is the cylinder surface my need to be machined. I just had to remove this engine to replace the leaking ass cheap valve cover gasket I bought on E-Bay. That problem was easily solved with an OEM Honda gasket which was 3 times thicker. While I was there I also replaced the rubber pucks under the cam towers as well. Now this. The head gasket is a Vesrah by the way. I used that when I had the engine out before in January.
