Marylander
« on: July 17, 2008, 10:44:55 AM »
Hey,

New feller here.  Ive been looking around the site for a little while using your resources to fill my brain with stuffs.  I now have a new project that and thought I might as well get involved over here.  I have been around the hondachopper.com board for a little while and they reference some of the stuff over here occasionally.

My new project is a santee rigidarm bike with a 71 SOHC 750 and an ARD mag.  I plan on running a 10 over girder with dual disc setup from a 77 ss, 77ss wheels, 3+ on the rigidarms with a DOHC swingarm and 6 bend bars with a low KQ seat.  I am absolutely stuck on a gas tank and havent been able to find the brake setup yet, but itll come around.

A little bit about me.  I am a fire protection engineer and I do fire scene reconstruction in a lab.  I burn stuff all day and stare at data, so if something will burn, ill burn it.  Appropriately enough, the bike im buillding was in a fire, some things just seem to have a connection.  It was in a shed fire over 3 years ago, and when I pulled the neck out, all the grease still had a pungent smell of smoke.

Here is a link to my photobucket junk.  You can see my current bike, a 72 stock frame, konged with 6 over forks, and my project bike, the santee.  There are also some random parts in there.  If you see something you like let me know.  Im not sure whats in there.

Well that sounds good enough.

Matt

Welcome :)

Your photobucket link seems to be missing.  :(

Your new project sounds very cool, I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.

cheers

Hi, Matt,

I'm new to the forum as well and have a lot to learn about bikes. Been around them some but can't sling the lingo like you do. Almost need a translation (lol). Keep is posted on your progress with the new project.

I like the look of your running bike.  You increased the rake along with the forks, which kept the frame level.  It has a nice cruser stance.
