      Anybody catch the August issue of Motorcyclist magazine? They've got pictures and info on Paul Carberry and his V-Twin Enfield engine-d bike. Check it out. Here is a link to his sit. http://carberryenfield.com/ Pretty interesting to me. Seems like his bike is going into production. Displacement is 1000cc and can be capable of being built as a 1300cc unit.

       Lots of other interesting stiff on old bikes too!

Other than for nostalgic reasons..I don't see what the advantage necessarily would be for an Enfield V-twin.  Do you?

I think that the Enfield vertical twins were nice..would be nice to see a few re-made..as per the singles now available.

Maybe I'm missing something here..but I just don't see the advantage of an Enfield V-twin..

BTW..did you ever find a decent hot dog sauce recipe?  Ever since you posted on that topic..I've been thinking about Harold's Lounge in Charleston..how great the food was there..

          Hey Ich.    From what I gathered from what I DID read about the V-twin, he is trying to build a V-twin bike that would not be as expensive to get parts for (everything but the lower end, uses the standard Enfield Bullet parts and the trans is a standard item. Also some of the lower end MAY be standard items, not sure about that part.) and he's trying to get it so that more folks would be able to afford it. The first ones are 1000cc and, from what I read, are pretty decent runners but not Hot Rods. Later, if things go well, he has the capability to build them in different configurations all the way up  to 1300cc and give them more performance also. He's also taking into account that V-Twins seem to be a very popular style for now too.
That's all I've got at the present time.


            No, I haven't been able to try those recipes that were posted but am going to get after them to see if I can settle on at least one. Been kinda busy lately.

        Yeah, to me it does have a sort of "Nostalgic" look to it and the fact that a number of parts are available because they are already in production (since they are actually parts from the Bullet. I believe that the main thing that was developed, was the lower end and EVEN a number of THOSE parts might well be Enfield parts also. I know that the primary drive, clutch and trans are things that were already being made for the current RE Bullet. He's trying to get RE to take it over and at least one Chinese company is trying to get it and completely manufacturer the bike. Of course that means that the original aspect of the bike using existing parts from Royal Enfield, will completely go away. :( Be a shame for Paul Carberry's dream to go that route.

I read that article on Motorcyclist. It looks like a pretty interesting bike.

I love the looks of the new RE but they are really slow. Tiny too! It is far smaller than my 350F.
A twin that's a bit bigger and with some power would be a great new vintage ride.
I would have to relearn shifting on the wrong side though. Haven't had to do that since I had my '68 Triumph Tiger.
