Topic: 72 CB750 Seat Lock

So I locked my helmet under the seat of the bike.  Instead of hooking the D-ring of the helmet over the hook under the seat, I jst hung it by the chin strap.  Came back from the store, and the seat wouldn't unlock.  Good thing I hung the helmet by the strap, as I was able to get it off and onto my head to ride home.  Forgot about it, but this past weekend tried to unlock the seat, and it won't let go.  The key turns about 1/4 turn, where it would normally let go, but it won't.  How can I get this thing apart?  Thanks.

Just a stab in the dark, but did you try pressing down on the seat just above the lock as you turn the key?

YOU HAVE A TUMBLER BENT OR STUCK YOU HOPE STUCK.  SPRAY THE LOCK CYLINDER REAL GOOD THEN TAKE THE KEY AND RUN IT IN AND OUT REAL FAST A BUNCH, SPRAY IT AGAIN AND THEN TRY TO TUN IT, DO NOT FORCE IT.  IF IT DOES NOT TURN TAKE A SMALL HAMMER AND STRIKE THE FACE OF THE LOCK, TRY IT, IF NO GOOD PUT KEY IN LOCK AND TAP THE KEY WITH A SMALL HAMMER.

Spray the inside of the cylinder with Lock-Ease.  It's graphite based with a solvent.  After it's sprayed the solvent evaporates leaving the graphite behind.  I've had the same problem on my K2 and the Lock-Ease took care of it.  You should be able to get it at any auto parts store.

I'll get some lock ease and give it a try.  I did try pressing, pulling, sitting, and having my son sit on the seat.  While it made for a good photo, it didn't help with the lock. Thanks!
