Well done!  Love all the red accents and the Rhino liner actually works out real well.  Not to sure about the viper fairing though.  Maybe another fairing choice like something from air-tech or glass from the past, not sure.

The illusion of the nekkidness is great and the illusion that the swing arm is extended is kewl.  This is where I think the Viper fairing takes away from the bike.

Hope you don't mind the opinion, it your bike and sure you will do whatever you like, lol.

The viper comes and goes, I am not 100% sold on it yet, it TOTALLY changes the look of the bike and does little if anything to help with the wind. I definitely think it looks "tougher" without it.

Thanks for the input!

Dupli Color engine paint in Iron and Steel with Dupli Color wheel clear coat are used liberally on the bike (motor, oil tank and side cover, fork lowers and rear brake housing.

I think the fairing completely messes up the balance of the bike.  Because the tail section is so short, adding that much to the top-front of the bike throws everything off.  Also, it looks like it was just slapped on (which, if I'm understanding you, it is), while the rest of the bike has a fully realized aesthetic.  The fairing draws attention to itself, but not in a good way.  I would ditch it until you can either custom make one or figure out how to more fully integrate it into the theme of the rest of the bike.  Maybe a 1/2 fairing that is rhinoed or something.  Just my 2 cents. ;)

great looking bike... it was actually the reason that I want to switch my tank over to a 78  k tank. I agree with everyone here saying that the fairing throws the look of the bike.

Is there anyway that we could get a clip of what the exhaust sounds like? I have been thinking of putting on a modern muffler but I'm not sure what it would sound like. thanks in advance.

The last few weeks have been a little cold, hence the fairing, I think it is a goner.
Plus I have tried for like 2 months to find a good way to mount the signals up front with the fairing on, since getting waved at when I try to hand signal turns is more then a little annoying  >:(

So the winter holds the big fun of the front end rebuild, making a CF front fender, gremlin chasing in the charging system, and maybe some rear sets and a different headlight (BRIGHTER!!!!!).

A sound or video clip of the bike shouldn't be hard since I was both a audio engineer and a video tech earlier in life, and I will try to get around to it soon, but as whoever is/was waiting for some detailed pics of the mounts for the exhaust can attest to I suck at remembering to do that type of stuff.

Thanks again all for the input and comments

I can't tell but did you remove any tabs from the swingarm?

Bike looks awesome! The rhino liner is always a cool look, i'd say keep it.

so many questions.....
Cam cover color was the Dupli Color Steel, which was discontinued or re-formulated after I did that part, when I tried to do the rest of the motor with the same paint it didn't look the same, and the Iron color I used on the rest of the gray parts was actually a better match then the 3 cans of Steel I still have. Damn shame... that is the color I wanted all over.

Swingarm and frame tabs were all removed as well as the rear section of the frame behind the shock mounts. Pliers, Dremel, angle grinder, C7 cable cutter, Sawsall and grinding wheels were liberally used throughout.

As was mentioned the Rhino Liner is going nowhere. It is nice to drop tools, helmets, and gallons of gas on my tank and not worry. I only wish they would have done the underside of the lid which is peeling rattle can.

The muffler sounds and looks great, and obviously I wasn't trying to be era correct. I never would have popped the $500+ that can retails for, I got it for $50 from my parts guy at the local Honda shop. It came from a tricked out CBR600RR some nimrod who couldn't ride built and proceeded to loop out on it in the first week he had it. Dude had it hauled back to the dealer with massive damage and told them they could have it. The can has a slight scuff on what is now the lower part of the magnesium end cap that doesn't bother me in the least way, and if it did I could drop $20 more then the whole can cost me for a replacement from 2 Bros Racing. The can was cheap, but I payed some A hole at a muffler shop over $200 to fab the slip on and flange bit from stainless, which would have not been bad if I didn't need to drill, grind and cut the damn thing myself for a few hours to make it work. No excuse for the bad work, the guy had my pipes, the can and a CBR gasket to use as a template for the flange for 2 months, it was just shoddy work. Caveat Emptor.

Sorry I got to this topic so late.
Great looking scoot ya built their...

To clear the confusion I had my tank on the old CB750 sprayed with Line-X (Not rhino liner). Line-X is allot harder, and isnt "gummy" like Rhino liner can be. Plus it goes on thiner and more even (my opinion). I was all about the tank untill I soon realized that the tank had become the focal point of the entire bike. All the other work and effort I put into the bike came 2nd to the finish of the tank, which eventually bothered me to the point where the tank got sold and replaced with a gloss black tank..

Nice bike ;D
Ditto on fairing. I had one of those on my K8 for about 2 weeks and then took it off.

I'm trying to re-use it on this bike build. I cut it way down with a dremel ;D

ProTeal-

I am not 100% sure of the brand of bed liner that is on it, I just use Rhino Liner sorta like Kleenex or Band Aid if ya know what I mean. That crap is tough as nails whatever the heck it is....

And yeah... if does become the focus on the bike. If I ever want to change the look I will have to pop for a new tank and build a new seat pan, glad I at least have a spare headlight bucket.
