oil cooling cap???
« on: September 07, 2005, 09:30:42 AM »
Hello, everyone
I've just stepped up from my '72 350 to a 1971 cb750 - bought it off of a mechanic down in the beautiful state of TN. So I've been checking out parts and accessories and saw this little gadget on ebay called an oil-cooling cap...

Does anyone have any idea if these things really work, or is it on the level of l.e.d.'s on your tire stems?

Thanks,
John...

Save your 20 spot. Pure snake oil.

It scwews into the right hand side of engine just above points cover. The theory here "and its just a theory" is that the cool air flowing over it will wick the heat from the inner engine oil..........NOT ::)

Great place to put a oil preasure gauge though ;D

right-o...mine too.

this became an issue for me riding the 5 hrs. back from nashville - the gent i bought this bike from was missing the side cover for the oil tank so had lovingly painted and pin-striped it to match the tank and left cover ... not that i minded the fact it kept my backside warm all morning  ;D
