Moving
« on: August 11, 2008, 05:07:18 AM »
Well I have finally gone off the deep end. I have quit my job and decided to take a job in St Augustine Florida working for my best friend who just opened a new business. I truthful have no idea if I am doing the right thing or not. I'm leaving behind my family (my mom my brother and my niece, the only family I have) and my girlfriend who is staying in Tallahassee to get her doctorate at FSU. I think I just really need a change. I was working in a bar which is a crazy lifestyle and the job is not going anywhere. That way of life is hard on anyone and no I'm not an alcoholic. I rarely drink but when I do... I do.

The job in St Augustine couldn't be cooler. I wrench on electric cars and scooters all day and rent them to people on the beach. I don't really know what the job pays yet because he doesn't know. He just opened 3 weeks ago. It doesn't really matter because I'm moving into his 3 bedroom apartment for free. If I can make enough to cover my other bills I will be good. The apt also has a nice big garage for my 4 bikes that I currently work on out side. The only drawback I see right now is that he doesn't have internet which sucks but I think once things get rolling we can splurge.

The girlfriend is pissed. I wont get into it, we have all heard it before. I told her It was something that I wanted to do and it is. I try never to stop her from doing anything she wants to do in life regardless of what I think. She understands but is not happy.

Needless to say after Saturday,  I may not get to be on the forum as much as I am now. :( I'm going to miss it. Who else will help me decide on a good oil and help me pick out a good washer and dryer combo. Hopeful I wont be gone too long and Ill try to make it to the library when I can. I cant stay away. This forum is the best.

wish me luck

Good luck to you mate
Your still young so go for it, its an adventure and as history has shown some adventures end in tragedy but others end in success. I hope your adventure ends in success and happiness.
Follow your dreams, or you wont have any.
Cheers
Troppo

Thanks Troppo, I think it will be fun regardless of the outcome. I agree I am young and if I'm going to to do risky things I might as well do them now.

As Troppo says, sure some adventures end in tragedy, the HMS Terror for instance, but hey,
it ain't cold in St. Augustine so the worst you could get is a sunburn.  ;D ;D

Good luck Void, hope all goes well in St. Augustine!!
